Why study childcare and education?

Our full-time childcare and education course is equivalent to three A Levels. You will learn the fundamentals working in Early Years education including how children develop through play, health and wellbeing, legislation and how to develop as a professional educator.

What will I learn about?

The course is an interactive blend of classroom learning and work placements with the skills and knowledge gained enabling you to move into careers working with children, family support and early years education.

Together with your on-site learning at Hucknall Sixth Form Centre, you will be required to work or volunteer on a practical placement as an important part of the assessment process.

Entry requirements

You need five GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 4 or above including English language and maths, and will have an interview with the tutor before being accepted. You are required to undertake a DBS check prior to any placement.
