Students at the Hucknall Sixth Form Centre today received their Level 3 and A Level results.

The centre operates in collaboration between National Church of England Academy, The Holgate Academy and Queen Elizabeth’s Academy.

After a long-anticipated wait, year 13 students were excited to gather in Hucknall today to collect their A level results. With some brilliant individual successes, and an overall strong set of results, students were delighted to be able to celebrate their achievements and will now go on to pursue their career goals by taking up university places, apprenticeships or entering employment – or opting for new adventures by taking a gap year.

From The National Academy, 91% of students were accepted to their first choice of University and two students were accepted to Oxbridge Universities.

There have been a number of notable successes from students including Jacob, who achieved an impressive two A* grades and two A grades (in History, EQP, biology and maths) and will be going to study Law at the University of Oxford and Odetta achieved three grade As and a grade B and will be studying History at the University of Oxford.

From The Holgate Academy, one of this year’s top performers was Bethany Sladden, who achieved outstanding grades of A* in maths, A* in biology, A in chemistry and A* in the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). She will now be heading to the University of Warwick to study biochemistry. Bethany said: “I am really, really pleased with my results.”

From Queen Elizabeth’s Academy, Jessica studied English literature, history, geography and the EPQ. Jessica is excited about her next chapter, having been accepted to Nottingham Trent University to study music performance. “I am pleased with my results and looking forward to my next steps at university,” Jessica shares, ready to pursue her passion for music.

Ms Cliffman, head of Hucknall Sixth Form Centre, added, ” It has been a privilege to witness the growth and dedication of this year’s Year 13 students over the past two years. They have not only invested in their own learning but also supported each other as a close-knit community. Their excellent results are a testament to their talent and hard work, and they are now ready to embark on the next exciting chapter of their lives”.
