Within Hucknall Sixth Form Centre, you will be offered the chance to get involved in roles which will support your ongoing personal development. As part of this, we have an elected Student Council with representatives from each tutor group and overseen by a chair from the Student Leadership Team. The council meet regularly to discuss issues that are important to the students and support making decisions on matters such as catering within the Centre.
Together with the student council, you can be selected to be part of a senior team that is made up from year 13 students. To be elected into one of these roles, you are asked to write a letter of application, are supported by a staff referee and attend an interview/presentation with a senior member of staff. Should you choose, there is also the chance to become subject ambassadors, representing your subjects at annual events such as Open Evenings.
Involvement in activities such as the student council or any of the leadership/ambassador roles are not just great for development, but are also impressive to reference on UCAS and job applications in the future.
