Each year at HSFC our top achieving GCSE students are selected to take part in a programme called HE Plus which is run in conjunction with the University of Cambridge. Students take part in a range of sessions (this year online) to help prepare them to make competitive applications to top universities and they also access lectures delivered by academics in their chosen field of study. This year 15 HSFC students have taken part in HE Plus. We have been really impressed by their commitment and the amazing range of interesting lectures they have attended including history, geography and biodiversity, biomedicine and economics; as well as taking part in super curricular activities run by the University of Nottingham, University of Durham and Corpus Christi College, Cambridge.
We are especially happy and proud to announce today that one of our students Charlie Smith has been chosen by the HE Plus team as Overall Most Engaged Student for the whole of North Nottinghamshire Consortium which encompasses the top achieving students of 12 academies. She has engaged with a very wide range of lectures and shown great enthusiasm and dedication to her studies all year. Well done Charlie!
